Now collect tax and duty as a payable line item at checkout. Pair with DDP shipping for no extra covered import charges on delivery — backed by the calculation and monitoring tools your store already relies on.
You asked for more than an estimate. Tax & Duty King now adds the tax and duty charge as a payable line item, so your customers can pay it upfront with their order.
A clearly labelled tax & duty line item makes the import cost visible before the customer pays.
Your customer pays the tax & duty charge alongside their products and shipping, in one upfront total.
Pair the collected charge with Delivered Duty Paid shipping so those import charges are not billed again on arrival.
More confidence at checkout. Fewer surprise bills at the door. Give international shoppers the clarity they have been asking for.
Understand DDP setup →DDP fulfilment must be arranged with your carrier. Merchants remain responsible for customs clearance and payment of applicable import charges.

Import duty calculation is far more complex than VAT. It depends on the product's HS code, its country of origin, the destination country, and any applicable trade agreements. Our AI Duty Rate Agent manages all of this automatically.
A Harmonized System (HS) code is the internationally standardised number used by customs authorities to identify a product and determine its duty rate. Getting this right is critical. Tax & Duty King uses AI to classify your entire catalogue accurately and sync the codes to Shopify.
AI analyses your product title, description, and category to suggest the correct HS code
Review and approve suggestions in bulk or one by one
Push approved HS codes directly to Shopify product listings with one click
Shopify column shows real-time sync status for every product
Accurate fee calculations require accurate exchange rates. Our Currency Rate Agent fetches live rates from multiple reliable financial sources on an hourly schedule, ensuring every calculation reflects the current market rate.
The manual calculator is a powerful tool for your customer service team and for your own scenario planning. Estimate import tax and duty for a product and destination without placing a test order. Use the breakdown to plan pricing and explain costs to customers.

The in-cart widget is the customer-facing part of Tax & Duty King. It's designed to be flexible enough to blend seamlessly with any Shopify theme, from minimal to highly branded stores.
If your store sources products from multiple countries — different vendors, different suppliers, different origins — a single global origin setting will produce incorrect duty calculations for most of your catalogue. Multi-Origin solves this by letting you assign a specific country of origin to each vendor in your Shopify product catalogue.
| Vendor | Origin | TCA | DDP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acme Apparel | 🇩🇪 DE | ✓ 0% duty | — |
| Pacific Goods | 🇨🇳 CN | N/A | — |
| LuxBrand EU | 🇫🇷 FR | ✓ 0% duty | Hide |

The new payable line item collects the charge separately at checkout. The existing included-duty display settings serve a different purpose: some merchants already cover import duties for specific markets through their Shopify Market prices. For these customers, showing an import fee estimate in the cart would be incorrect and confusing. DDP mode suppresses the calculator entirely and replaces it with a clear “Tax & Duties Already Paid” message.
Use these included-duty display settings only where duties are already covered by your prices or fulfilment arrangement. They do not collect the new payable line item. In either case, arrange DDP shipping and customs settlement with your carrier; hiding the calculator does not pay customs charges.
